Medicare, the agency that administers the Medicare program, will soon be seeking another round of public feedback on whether to provide coverage for seat elevation systems in power wheelchairs and will soon be opening a separate consideration for standing systems. These technologies are critical systems for many wheelchair users that allow for improved health and greater independence at home. The ITEM Coalition is working to ensure that Medicare hears from the public about the importance of these systems.

Medicare is currently holding an open comment period on the agency's proposal to cover seat elevation systems for power wheelchair users. If you support this decision, we encourage you to Advocate for Coverage with Medicare and Sign the Petition.
